Arguably one of the most anticipated games of all time, Doom III first was shown two years ago. Doom III is extremely dark, which is nothing new to since Quake is the same. Racing games are similar to fighting games. It's fun to play with your buddies, but doing it alone get's real boring, real fast. It's no wonder, then, that Burnout Paradise surprised me in ways I'd never thought possible. There you are, driving around in a huge city that just looks amazing, with challenges being thrown at your face just about wherever you go. Thousands of years of human civilization were toppled during the Great Fall. Sixty years later, Mobile Suits have reappeared and destroyed an orphanage, setting Tristan and Fritz, the sole survivors, out to bring the culprits to justice. Along the strictly linear way they meet a variety of nicely imaged characters with cookie-cutter souls, acquire new abilities and equipment, and learn, ironically enough, that building a successful future means not repeating the past. In various scenarios, you're asked with running errands under a time limit, set against familiar scenes of the DBZ anime. What this really means is that every time you progress through a certain amount of stages in Dragon Mission, DBZ: IW will make you participate in a mandatory fetch quest, footrace, or the horrible "run through all the rings under a time limit" mini-game. In their defense, I must admit that "the world" in Kingdom Hearts is a damn awesome place, and is really better referred to as a universe composed of worlds - each one a distinct, recognizable Disney location, teeming with your favorite Disney characters.
